Noise In The Basement Creative Conference

In 2007 the Music Monitor Network launched the Noise In The Basement Creative Conference in Baltimore, MD. The conference brought together the owners of over 200 record stores, and featured more than 25 recording artists including Atmosphere, Regina Spektor, Raheem DeVaughn, The Avett Brothers, Van Hunt, Josh Ritter, and Flyleaf, as well as film premieres from David Lynch and Daft Punk, and the launch of the popular Rock Band video game. This year over 250 record stores will be represented. Artists scheduled to appear this year for either a performance or in-store appearance at The Sound Garden include The Pretenders, Motorhead, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, One Block Radius, Kindred The Family Soul, The Black Kids, Knaan, The Bridges, Nappy Roots, Unearthed, and In This Moment, Valient Thorr, Airbourne, and Year Long Disaster. Gaming events include special Guitar Hero and Madden 2009 tournaments, with more to be announced. Films scheduled include both Heavy Metal Baghdad and The Gits.
